Britannica Schoolis a cross-curricular resource that supports learning across all subject areas.Britannica Schoolis excellent for differentiated learning and is aimed at raising academic achievement. The resource also helps to promote literacy across the curriculum and content pieces can be used both inside the classroom and for homework tasks or research reports.

How doesBritannica Schoolsupport pupils/parents for whom English is an additional language?

Britannica Schooltakes advantage of the translation facilities provided by Google. Integration of the translate feature allows us to translate articles into all languages that the Google-translate tool supports. Each article also contains read-aloud functionality as well as an on-demand dictionary.Britannica Schoolalso provides three reading levels so each user can find the content that suits their needs and abilities.

A subscription includes use for all students and all teaching staff in school, from home and on any device.

Who are the editors and authors of the content?

Britannica has a complement of over 100 full-time editors and more than 4,000 contributors, who are experts in their respective fields worldwide. Notable contributors include Albert Einstein, Desmond Tutu, Tony Hawk and Eleanor Roosevelt.

How often are the services updated?

Britannica Schoolis updated daily and over 120,000 articles are reviewed and revised each year.

Can I copy or reuse content in my own work?

All Britannica content is royalty-free and cleared for copyright on the condition that it is being used for an educational, non-commercial purpose. You may not remove or alter any copyright, trademark, service mark or other legends or proprietary notices.

How can we integrate Britannica School?

Access toBritannica Schooldoes not require individual login IDs or passwords. There are a range of authentication options. We work with most LMS and VLE systems and also provide access through IP authentication and URL referral. Britannica will work with your school to provide remote access, helping to promote parental engagement. For further technical support, please contact Britannica on +44 (0)20 7500 7800. This service is available Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm UK time.

Britannica provides a range of online resources to help with the uptake and use of its resources; links can be found here. Britannica provides regular online webinars for new and existing customers; you can book these here. In addition, for new customers, we organise customer-specific online training tailored to meet your school’s specific needs.
